At Envato, creativity isn’t just a buzzword—it’s our heartbeat. In 2006, three entrepreneurs set out to stir up the creative landscape from a small garage in Sydney: fast-forward to 2024, and Envato has evolved into an invaluable resource for millions of creatives worldwide. 

From our ever-expanding library of creative assets to the educational content on Envato Tuts+, everything we do is designed to inspire and empower creatives like you. 

Today, we’re taking another leap forward, unveiling a new look, logo, and website to ignite your creative spark and encapsulate the passion of our community.

First Things First: Why Did Envato Rebrand?

So, why the rebrand? Simple. The creative world is ever-changing, and so are we. We wanted our brand to better reflect you—our creative community.

“Those who’ve been part of our journey know how much heart and passion exists in the creative community we have cultivated,” says Envato’s Chief Marketing Officer, Noelle Kim. “We wanted to evolve our brand to capture the feeling we hope to evoke in our community every time they interact with our brand and product: a sense of energy and a drive to do things differently.”

Envato’s rebrand isn’t just a new look; it’s about redefining who we are and what we stand for as a brand. So, we’ve designed our new logo, color palette, and visual identity to ignite inspiration, empower creatives, and spark creativity at every turn.

As a company founded for creatives, by creatives, we’re passionate about motivating creative professionals to be their best. We’re here to inspire those always chasing better—better assets, better workflow, better output, and better ways to bring ideas to life—and it was time our visual identity reflected this.

Okay, we’ve talked the talk—now, it’s time to walk the walk. 

To inspire creatives to make their mark, we first had to make ours—literally! Inspired by the humble marker pen, we set out to develop a fresh new logo that captured both the essence of Envato and our community’s creativity and passion. But first, we needed to define what we stood for as a brand.

We wanted our logo to reflect Envato’s upbeat, vibrant energy and commitment to the community while capturing the moment inspiration strikes—that buzz of bringing a creative idea to life.

Twelve sketchbooks, fifteen markers, and countless designs later, we landed on our new logo, comprising our ‘Creative Spark’—a symbol of energy and dynamism to fuel creativity—and our ‘Dynamic Dot’—a representation of each creative individual making their unique mark on the world.

Once we set out to make our mark, we quickly discovered that capturing the essence of creativity in one symbol was easier said than done: “We had several designers sketching out logo directions over many rounds to craft our perfect mark,” says Arlyn Panopio, Envato’s Head of Brand and Creative. “We wanted our logo to stand the test of time, and finding a design that felt current yet timeless was an iterative process of striking the right balance.” 

But our rebrand journey wasn’t just about crafting a new logo—it was also about reaffirming who we are and what we stand for: our commitment to creativity, collaboration, and community.

We were passionate about drawing from our community’s talent and diverse perspectives to develop our new look rather than engaging an external agency. As such, our rebrand was a major collaborative effort between our in-house creative teams and talented authors from our community.

Our clean, contemporary custom wordmark was designed by Envato author and Norwegian-based designer Milos Mitrovic—also the mastermind behind our new brand typeface, Poly Sans. Milos collaborated with our in-house team across continents to transform our vision into reality and represent one of the most essential elements of the Envato brand—our community.

“Creating Envato’s new logo and wordmark was one of the most successful and memorable collaborations I’ve had in my career,” says Milos. “This project was a collaborative effort between Envato’s creative team and I, and after exchanging many ideas, we landed on the creative spark—a mark representing the energy that Envato brings to inspire creativity.”

Next, it was time to show the world our true colors! We’ve traded our old green for a striking new shade: say hello to the reimagined Envato Green.

While we’ve always been known for our green, we wanted it to be bolder and brighter—just like us. Vibrant, effervescent, and energetic, our new hue is a breath of fresh air to reinvigorate our brand. 

In addition to the new Envato green, we’re also welcoming these colorful characters to our revamped color palette: 

  • Jalapeno, a dark green for depth.
  • Soft Serve, a subtle cream for warmth.
  • Dark Bubble Gum, an energetic purple for that extra pop!

Envato’s New Sound

Do you hear that? That’s the sound of the new Envato! In addition to our logo and color palette, we wanted to craft the perfect sound to bring our brand to life.

At its core, we wanted our sonic branding to capture the spirit of the Envato brand: authentic, passionate, dynamic, and, of course, creative. 

We partnered with K. Sparks, an NYC-based composer and contributor to popular Envato Author SyncHits, to create a sonic identity that would elevate our rebrand—and he delivered. 

While capturing the essence of a whole brand in one sound wasn’t easy, K’s infectious positivity combined with Envato’s vibrant new brand resulted in a sonic identity that’s as energetic as it is unexpected.

“I wanted Envato’s sonic branding to empower creatives to be bold, daring, and unique,” says K. Sparks. “A few initial sonic sketches were great but not bold enough, so we revisited, iterated, and challenged ourselves to push the boundaries, ultimately creating the perfect sonic representation of Envato’s brand.”

So, What’s Next for Envato? 

It’s time to roll out the green carpet! We’re revamping Envato with a brand-new website that looks better and functions better. We’ve modernized our UI and enhanced our UX to create a cohesive, creative journey—from sparking ideas to finding the perfect creative assets, we’re here to inspire you every step of the way. 

While our look may be new, we’re still the same creative subscription you know and love—now with the style to match. With the new-and-improved Envato in your toolkit, we’ve got creativity covered so you can focus on making your mark and producing high-quality designs every time.

“We’re excited to evolve both the Envato brand and product to level us up to play in today’s dynamic world,” says Envato’s CEO Hichame Assi. “This rebrand is not just about a new look—it’s about living and breathing our brand values into everything we do and supporting our creative community to do the same.”
